Default VTA mod plugs

I was wondering if anyone that purchased a VTA mod plug from me could share their impressions and/or post pics & video for others to see.

These are now available from Stage 3 Motorsports!

I like mine! It's fun to play around with, but when it starts to get old, it only takes 30 seconds to pull it out and put the hose back on.

For what they cost, it's a fun little mod.

For those concerned about daily driving, it doesn't make much noise unless you spool up the turbo's. I can't hear it over the radio (normal talking volume)

I like it, not too loud and it reminds me that I am driving a prius with as quiet as these trucks are.

I have it too, its super easy to remove so I got it saying to myself "why not". It sounds a little funny at first and my gf didn't quite get the point. I like it now though, its been in a few weeks and I have done a couple road trips with it. Can't really hear it at all on the highway, pretty easy to hear with radio lower and town driving tho.

Should also note, I did some off roading, through big puddles and deeper mud and forgot to take it out, about 700 miles later and no problems, so people worrying about that, it should be fine.

Yeah the ease of reversability is def a big perk, when I took mine to the dealer the other day for the 4-5 downshift TSB, I didn't remember to take it out until I got there. Popped it out right in the parking lot in 20 seconds. Having a 2.5 level, 35" tires and no air dam makes it a snap to reach right under and pop it out

The tint is by suntek it is call Carbon 18 it's supposed to reflect the heat and UV better and thanks for the compliments on my truck yours is very nice as well a truck should reflect the owner as well as be comfortable and functional that's just my opinion

I love it! Took about a minute to install and now my truck sounds more like what a turbo should sound like. Great little add-on and I don't see myself getting bored with being able to hear it.

What's the difference between these and an actual blow off valve?

You are probably asking because you have seen aftermarket blow off valve's available which give the same effect of this mod for alot more money.

Our trucks already have a very effective and reliable electronic blow off valve, the stock configuration recirculates the excess turbo pressure from the BOV back into the air intake tube for the sole purpose of silencing the "blow off sound" or "turbo hiss". All an aftermarket BOV does is vent directly to the atmosphere rather than recirculating into the air intake, so the "blow off sound" can be heard. An aftermarket BOV is usually in the $2-300 range, is a permanent modification, and you still need to block off the port on the intake from the recirc tube.

The intent of this plug, is to allow you to retain the factory blow off valve, and still get the "blow off sound" that you would get from a much more expensive aftermarket BOV, all while being completely reversible in 30 seconds.

To install, you would disconnect the bottom of the recirc tube from the BOV outlet, stick the plug into the end of the recirc tube, and ziptie the tube over the top of the BOV outlet so that its not dangling free.

Plug installed and recirc tube zip tied over top of BOV outlet
