Alright I think I'm getting closer to having this thing whipped. Took the assembly off today and added 2 more layers of Dynamat on the firewall where the bolts go (total of 3), a 2nd layer on the back of the assembly that actually touches the firewall and one layer on the front of the assemble where the bolts go then tightened the bolts down just til they became snug. Took it for a 10 minute test drive and vibrations are 80% gone. There is still some but it's a lot better.

Managed to take a couple pics but because its so tight under the dash and Im too fat to crawl under there enough, only one of them came out where you can actually tell anything. This is the firewall where the bolts go through. I just cut out little squares of the Dynamat, slapped them on there then pressed them in as far as they would go. Thats 3 layers on the firewall and then 2 on the back of the assembly.

Just poke a hole through everything with a screwdriver and the bolts slide right thru with no problem.

Again, I only tested this for about 10 minutes but it's getting there. I also took out the piece of foam I had resting behind the pedal the first time. Since loosening up the bolts helped, I thought removing the foam would allow a little more slack between the assembly and the firewall which should mean less vibes transmitting though.

I dont know if you have to use Dynamat (or comparable like Second Skin) but this stuff is designed and built to absorb and dampen vibration so I would think its just about perfect for this kind of application.

Well, add me to the list with pedal vibrations. I have 3,500 km on my truck now and the vibration just started yesterday. It was literally fine one minute, then after going over some bumps, I have a buzzing vibration in the floorboard and pedals. I think the fixes in this thread are good but they only address the symptom.

The cause of the vibration is most likely something that has shaken loose and now resting on something it shouldn't be. Again, mine started suddenly yesterday and was fine before. I think a hose or something has probably shifted and is resting against the tranny or something and is transmitting vibes.

I just picked up a 2016 Ford F-150 Limited. The cabin is a placid comfortable space as luxurious as any, but holy crap the gas pedal feel destroys that ambiance. It feels like the pedal is connected directly to the suspension. Every pebble or uneven road surface gets transmitted to my foot.

I've found myself using Adaptive Cruise Control even on secondary roads just so I don't have to touch the thing.

It's really sad that engineers spent so much effort designing an otherwise great cabin feel only to have something so insanely huge interfere. Otherwise I am very happy with rest of the truck.

I will see what my dealer can do about it, but based upon these threads I'm not holding my breath.

Ford needs to issue a TSB!

Mine is mostly fixed. I laid a layer of Dynamat on the mat against the firewall and used pieces of the anti fatiguing mat, removed the lower left bolt completely and loosened the 2 remaining bolts to where they were just a little less than finger tight. My vibration is 95% gone. I still get some from time to time but its fixed enough that I can live with it and not have any problems. One last thing I'm going to try is to find some rubber bushings maybe 1/2" thick and buy some longer bolts. This would leave about 1/4" of space behind the pedal assembly and should remove any more vibrations.

I read on a Chevy forum somewhere that it was the transmission cable that was resting against the bottom of the truck and was causing vibrations in the cabin.

I think the only way to fix this is to remove the front seats and carpet completely and put down a layer of Dynamat and some soft foam material on top of that. I don't think Ford will ever acknowledge there is a problem with it and it's going to be up to the owners to fix it. That is disappointing but I still love this truck and this is the only issue I have with it.

I think the parking brake cable is transmitting a lot of vibration into the floor and pedals. It's loose as hell towards the back of the truck.

When you put dynamat on the firewall, did you place it on top of the thin backing covering the metal or directly on the metal firewall? When I tried mine I couldn't find an easy way to pull that firewall covering and it's kinda loosely floating above the firewall.

I put it on the material against the firewall that the assembly rests yo against. You can feel the vibration thru there if you take the assembly off and rev the engine. Like you, I couldn't find an easy way to pull this material back so I did it this way instead.

Ok I made a L shaped with 3 layers of dynamat under the pedal assembly, added two layers between the the bolts and assembly, and put strips along the shaft and under the pedal. Test drove it and it's way better.

Now if I could only find a way to get rid of the vibes coming through he steering...

OK, I think I fixed this thing. I went to Ace Hardware and got some thick rubber washers and and some #8 2.25" bolts to replace the stockers. I left a layer of Dynamat over the firewall where the bolts go then put the washers between the assembly and the firewall. This leaves a good 1/2" between the assembly and the firewall so the only points of the assembly that are touching the firewall are at the bolts. When I first test drove it, the vibrations were 90% gone but there were still a little there. I moved the pedals all the way back and that did the trick. The vibrations are now 100% gone from the pedal. I drove around for 20 minutes and never felt them again. Now I do have some still in the floor board but they're very slight and nothing that'll bother me. I'm still going to work on getting them tamed but I could absolutely live with them if I had to.

This was a super easy fix and cost I think like $15 or so (I bought a bunch of different stuff to try so can't remember exactly).

This is a pic of the bolts and the washers/spacers.

I put the larger washers against the firewall and the smaller ones against the assembly. I used the smaller ones for a little extra buffering from the firewall. You could probably get away with 2.5" bolts as the 2.25"' did thread but you kinda have to press them in there but then again I've got 2 layers of Dynamat on there too.
