Default Using the key.

This is probably a dumb question but I couldn't find the answer in the owners book. If I am out and the battery in my FOB dies, I can use the key inside to enter the truck but how do I start it when I am inside. I can't find a key slot for it.

If any one knows, it would be great if you could enlighten me.

Thanks

Page 162 .... backup slots.

RFID is interrogated in those slots - even if the batteries are dead.

Yep, just pull the rubber mat out of front console under radio and drop the key fob into the cutout for it. Then you will be able to start. Or if you have the center seat there is a slot in the back of the fold up armrest I believe.

Exactly in the slot.

Just wondering does the display have an alert to let you know when the battery is getting low on the fob?

I know my Nissan will show an alert on the cluster when it is getting low, also the fob will go into a battery saver mode where you walk up and press the door button and nothing happens. I am guessing it stops actively transmitting and you have to hit the unlock button on the fob and everything will work again till the next time you are out of the car for a while.

LOL!! But, after all, he is a digital immigrant! I too appreciate his in depth knowledge of the owners manual.
