I have a 15 lariat and a 16 xlt(4.3 radio) I want to install sync 3 in the lariat and move my sync 2 to the xlt

So I did the conversion from the 4" to 8" screen. AWSOME!! Do it if you get the chance to find all the parts!

Just do the pin moves as they say. One part of the conversion I found unclear on the diagrams was when it talks about the "media hub/module", this part is where the usb and sd card plugs in. I got mine out of a f150 platinum, so mine plunged in with no modification (as far as the micro pin connector, it looks like the thing android phones use as a charger), BUT it does have a plug along side it. The stock one I replaced did not have this plug, it was only one usb connection. This did take some modification. So there is a few wires coming off that plug ( I only had the plug because I bought a hub with the harness) I hooked up the yellow wire from the media hub to the apim connector in slot 8. The rest I think are for audio if you plug something in "aux in". This made the hub active. Nav started working and phone started charging.

If I had to do it over again I would defiantly definitely buy a plug and play harness from: OEMRadiosolutions. The whole process was ok but that's because it's over now so I could do it again but it's easy to break the clips that hold the pins in, and read the diagrams, and just do it right in general. Buy the OEM guys harness.

Just talked to 4 local truck customizing shops here in Southeastern Mass. 3 of the 4 can't do it and the other one will have a new kit to do it around Xmas. Said it will be $2000 to do it but it will be an after market kit that does DVD's and have full Pandora control.

There is a vendor on mustang6g that does the 4.2 base to a SYNC3 themed navigation. Not SYNC3 but mimics it and all functions work. Would love to get this for my 2016 XL.

Just checked their site and they only have a few items for the 2016 F150's but no Nav yet.

Yup,I have been asking them about the F150, they said they may do one. I wonder what is really different between the two besides the bezel?
