Towing MPG and Pics
Had an appt. to have my truck bed Line X'd today while I was at work. I guess I could have called Uber or something. But that's no fun so decided to throw the daily beater ('94 Integra GSR) on the car hauler instead. That way I could just unload the car at the Line X place and drive it to work while they had my truck. The Line X place is a 70 ish mile round trip from my house. A mix of HWY, back roads and city driving so I figured it would be a good representation of towing MPG. Plus its a round trip so I had to go back up all the hills I went down ext.
Truck is a '15 3.5 Eco 4x4 SCREW 6.5 Bed 3.55 gears with about 2600 miles. Has the towing package but not MAX TOW.
The car weighs about 3000lbs. The trailer is about 2000lbs including the ramps, logging chains, binders in the tool box ext. So about 5k total.
Quick stop at the liquor store
At the house getting ready to unload the car again

Here is the MPG for the round trip towing. Not too bad I guess. I ran 5 over the speed limit everywhere. Ranging between stop n go in the city to 70mph on the hwy. Used tow haul the whole time. Used cruise whenever possible. Locked it out of 6th gear.
Lifetime MPG on the truck since new. Has never been reset.
Here is the line x job. I like it.

This truck handles that load with absolute ease. Never felt one ounce of sway while cornering or passing semis or crossing uneven bridges in the middle of a curve at 70mph. No porpoising at all. Rode smooth. It never downshifted out of fifth for any hill other then one. The hill requiring the only downshift of the trip is very steep and long. It is right outside of a 40 mph speed limit. Then the limit changes to 55 at the bottom of the hill. This hill is steep enough to have grade warning signs and semis are usually going 30mph with the flashers on when they reach the top.
The Ecoboost made one downshift into 4th and walked up the hill with the cruise set on 60mph no problem whatsoever. Very diesel like power delivery when towing. Transmission temp reached 204*F by the top of the hill. Easy as you please!

Picked up a good size load of firewood about a month ago, pulled great. I loaded with enough tongue weight to make it set level and it handled good as well. 5.0 did great even with 3.31 gears
