Default Tire Pressure Monitor. Accurate??

When I took the truck home the tires were all different so I got out and set them all to 38 psi on my gauge, got back in the truck and 3 tires showed that they were at a 39 - which is understandable but one of them still said 43psi.
What's up with that? Is the monitor on the truck real accurate or not really?
The gauge I used is like a 7 dollar gauge FYI

Mine seems right on, except for a brief malfunction that made me think I had a flat. I can even watch the pressures climb & fall as the tires heat & cool.

Default Tire Pressure Monitor. Accurate??

Mine all seem to be -/+ 1 compared to traditional gauge.

Mine work great apparently. My girlfriend ran over a nail this week, and the system told her the tire was at 22 psi. So far so good.

Mine read spot-on, as compared to my large dial Accu-Gage.

My accugauge reads 5 lbs low. That was brought to my attention when I bought the truck. All this time I thought it was accurate. Guess I've been putting too much air in my tires for a while!

The gauge on the truck ended up going down to normal later, must've been a delay

This. Ugh.

So we had some bad storms blow through here during the month of May. I'd say there are probably 45-50 houses getting new roofs on them just in my neighborhood of about 200 homes. Mine was one of them (this was one of the numerous reasons for me downgrading my truck). At my house, I got the dudes magnetic wheel thing and went over the entire yard, driveway, flower beds- everything! Can't say the same for everyone else.

The day before I traded the KR, I ran over a nail. Had no idea except when I checked the tire pressure screen. 40-40-40-32. Huh? So I grab the compressor and fill it back up to 40. Run to Home Depot for something, come home, 32 again. Ok. So I check the back tire- nail. Oh, these are Kevlar tires. I'll just pull this out. PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Me: "Uh, that's not good."
Wife: "Put it back in?!"
Me: "That's what she said?"
Wife: "Really? Your tire is deflating before your eyes and you're making funnies?"
Me: "Better than blaming you for it. I don't run nails over and the kid can't drive yet sooooo."
Wife: "I've driven that truck twice."
Me: "That's exactly one more time than needed to get a nail."

I fill it up, drive to Discount Tire and they patch it. I said "Dude, WTF, Kevlar?" He said "Welcome to advertising."

So, I trade it in, get the XLT, get the new tires and wheels on it and come home. Hmm. All these tires are at weird pressures. 32-34-35-37. I fill them all up to 40. Next day driving to work. 32-40-40-41. Whatever, I'll deal with it when I get home. Driving home, I'm watching it change to 30-42-42-42. Light comes on. So I drive to Discount Tire again. Another nail.

I think this will be a weekly thing until they finish all the roofs around here. They were both roofing nails so common sense and probability lead me to my neighborhood.

I will say that I am glad I got the lifetime rotate and balance and road hazard policy through Discount Tire. Rotate and balance-free. Some roofer leaves his nails out all *****-nilly, gets in my tire-free. Get new tires before 50k miles- prorated discount. Can't complain.

LMAO!! Love that "conversation" with the wife...we've all had it! Back on topic, mine seem to be really accurate now that I bought a good digital gauge. Always read 2-3 psi high compared to cheap dial gauge.
