Tire mfg
My new 2015 F-150 was just submitted to Ford today (7/31/15) for building. I ordered a XLT Supercab, 2wd, 2.7 Ecoboost, and equipment group 301a. This is my first time ordering a truck as I've previously always taken dealer stock or dealer trade. Can anyone shed any light on to what tire brand Ford is currently using on a truck of this nature? Ford dealer said it is based on current supply (assuming you didn't upgrade tire size/package, which I did not... mine is basic stock tires for XLT 2wd). My current 2009 came from Ford with a nice set of Michelin's. I'm really hoping for another set of Michelin's or Goodyear's and not Hankook.

When I bought my XLT Sport SCrew RWD it came with the 18" Sport wheels and Michelin 265/60/R18 tires.
I could be wrong, but I thought only the 4x4 Platinums came with Hankooks and the Goodyears on the other models in 4x4. Michelins on RWD models.

My Hankooks are a hell of allot better than the Michelins I had on my 12' so far. Winter traction is not comparable, Hankook were better in 2wd than the Michelin in 4wd and they're a smooth ride. I wasn't sure about them until I actually had them and I'm impressed so far.

The company I use to work for had a fleet of Ford F Series trucks and many had Hankook tires. We had a lot of issues with them... not something I could put my finger on, but it was ALWAYS those trucks with tire issues. We never had any problems with our Michelin's. I'm not a big Goodyear guy either, but for me personally, its better than Hankook.

Good to know... just signed on the dotted line today. XLT 2wd supercab. Hopefully it comes with Michelin's like you think!

Just picked up my 2015 Screw XLT - Michelin Tires 245/70R/17. If your vehicle is not equipped with Michelin ask the stealer to make a switch... Just saying.
