Default Timing Chain Safe Date

What date is it safe to buy a 2015 built after? 9/30/15 was the date I seemed to remember for some reason, but all I can find via TSB 15-0131 is 5/29/15? Does that sound right?

I've been bit by the bug to trade my '14 in for a '15 or '16, but hate to trade if it still might have same issue down the road. With 25k miles on my '14 it has been perfect thus far.

Still might be an issue. May have a different issue. Do what makes you happy.

Gotta click the little red ! Below your name in your original post. That how you report issues.

Don't worry, I already did it

I'll second this. Because Ford was denying the problem for such a long time and still took a couple of tries before they settled upon the correct fix, I'd say that anything is suspect up to the point of the 2015's coming out. We won't know until people 75,000 miles on their trucks and that won't be for a couple of years.

Ok I've been out of the loop for a little while. What's the problems with the timing chains on the 5.0s?

Ford replaced mine when they were looking for the tap and knock issue then ended up replacing the short block. This was a about 5 to 6 months ago maybe less. Should I be concerned and what should I look for it listen for
Thanks

This is referring to the 3.5 eco, haven't seen any issues with 5.0 timing chains

Thanks. My mistake, guess I just assumed 5.0.
