tailgate step

Have it on my 09' and just ordered it on my 15'. One of the most practical options on the truck and should be standard equipment. If you use your truck to actually work with, then it's a must have

another vote for it!
it makes all the difference between "taking a giant step up to the bumper / tailgate, ripping out my jeans' crotch in the process and hoping I can lift my out-of-shape self up" and a 1-2 step on the step and up the tailgate.
Much safer to load / unload boxes without having to put them down and slide them too.
My Tacoma was OK without a step, no chance I would not have one on a F150.

It's a Must-Have fer Geezers too (axe me how I know, lol).

Geez, I think I use my truck as a truck, or to work with, or whatever. I haul stuff around, and I tow a long and heavy travel trailer several times each year. So yeah, I do truck stuff with my truck.
I didn't have the tailgate step on my 2010. I never needed or wanted it. My kids mentioned it would be handy.
I did not get it on my new truck. From the back, with the tailgate down, I step up on the side of the bumper. If I need into the side, I step on the rim or the tire.
I am a pretty big around, and I can manage this. Would a step make it easier, sure. Not every truck or truck owner needs one though.

And I agree with you that not every truck owner needs a step. But not every truck owner needs a truck either.

I had it on my 2011 but it wasn't on the 2015 truck I grabbed off the lot. It did come in handy on my pld truck. This truck had everything except but the step. I might get the side steps later.

I'm 6 3 and use mine alot. It's nice when you are loading and unloading. I love it when I'm oading for an atv trip and can just walk right up to load totes.
