Default Sync 5.9 update

I was on the Ford site yesterday and it notified me I have a new sync update available.

I currently have Sync 5.8 and there is a new version (5.9).

I am using a 2GB USB stick (Fat32) with file unzipped as per instructions however I keep getting install file not found messages from sync when trying to install.
I have the basic sync on the 4.3 inch screen.

Among the issues:
The instructions on the Ford website do not align with the radio in my truck.
The are no photos off menu prompts etc.
I cannot find anything anywhere on the web or in these forums that can help me.

Any help would be appreciated

After you unzip the file a folder is created. Do not copy the folder to your thumb drive. Only copy the contents of the folder to the drive.

Hmmm, when I unzip, there are two install files, (autoinstall.lst, install.lst) then a folder (SyncMyRide) holding a number of zip files and a .sec file.

Do I just dump the the zips from (syncmyride) to the root directory of the usb stick or do I unzip those too?

Nope. Have a blank thumb drive then copy all of that to the thumb drive as is.

Sounds like you have the correct upgrade file. Unzip (extract) the contents of the downloaded zip file to the root directory of a 2gb or larger flashdrive that is formatted as fat or fat32.

Did that several times with various usb sticks, have reformatted a 2 gb usb to ensure Fat 32. No luck there

Delete your download and re download it. Sometimes downloads get corrupt for various reason. Turn off your anti virus before you download again if you can.

Tried that, Sync just replies "installation file cannot be found..."

All files from "SyncMyRide" folder are in root of thumb drive

Quick Reply: Sync 5.9 update
