Ford says the V-6’s block is all-new but admits that the engine shares bore centers and cylinder dimensions with the outgoing engine to avoid costly changes to the assembly line. Keeping the engine dimensions the same also allows the engine assembly line to produce both the new and old engines at the same time because the F-150 is the only model to get the new 3.5 for the 2017 model year.

Mine just got done replacing my throttle body 15,000 miles on my truck, last Friday only took 30min to replace it. I don't have any problems before with my old throttle body but my dealer said for future safety need it to be replace with new one. I don't ever notice any difference from my old throttle body to new throttle body now. I post a picture of new throttle body on my truck. And anybody that have their old throttle body not yet been replace. please post the old one I wanna know if there is any difference.
Then while their valet takes my truck into the bay and the managers, tech and my self walk back to the techs stall, the tech realizes what happened. He had a new explorer sitting in the stall next to him, put the throttle body on it (which has the same issue) and had mixed paperwork up.
So thank you for the request for pics.

Your request saved my butt today. I took pics on the 25th of the old throttle body for your request. Today I took the truck in to have the recall performed, 45 min and they give my truck back. I get home and had a gut feeling to check the part, Pop the hood and it didnt look replaced. I compared the numbers on top, same numbers, Same paint marks, same road dust even. I take it back up there and the manager is dumbfounded. He calls the tech to the service write up bay and asks what the heck, Tech kinda stuttered about he didnt know why.

And we learned next time we visit a dealer or a shop its better to check first under the hood.
