Steering "feel"
Hey everyone just wanted to touch base with some real f-150 owners about the steering "feel" of the their trucks.
I have a 2013 f150 work truck with a solid steering feel , no play or sloppiness.
Now my 2015 f-150 the steering is much lighter which is fine but it seems going over little bumps there is noticiable play in the wheel , almost like you can feel something loose yet it still feels solid if that makes sense.
I'm not really sure to describe it but it doesn't have that same confidence that my 2013 has is this a characteristic of 2015s or is there an issue.
Just want some insight before a wasted dealer visit

Maybe you're just feeling more feedback through the wheel than the 2013 had. I happen to prefer more feedback. I think the F150 has a pretty decent balance of feedback and isolation.

My steering felt super light at highway speeds...almost scary. It was the only thing I didn't like about my truck. After 3 months my truck either slowly magically fixed itself or Ive just gotten used to it. At this point I don't notice it all.
There's a thread on here somewhere about a tsb to reprogram the eps to help.

SSM 45685 - 2015-2016 F-150 - Steering Pull/Drift/Wander - No Diagnostic Trouble Codes - Built On Or Before 9/24/2015
Some 2015-2016 F-150 vehicles built on or before 9/24/2015 may exhibit a drift, pull, and/or wander concern. To address the concern, reprogram the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) to the latest level using IDS version 99.03 or higher and attempt to re-verify the customer concern. If the customer concern is still present, then continue with normal WSM diagnostics. The updated calibration has improvements to the Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) compensation.

It is very light and sensitive at highway speeds. It tightens right up around 90 though...

Could be the difference between the older hydraulic system, and the new electronic system. With EPS, "feel" has to be tuned in, and it can be tricky to get it right.
EPS can typically feel a bit numb compared to hydraulic, but the tuning has gotten better over the last few years. (for all mfgr's)

I just got mine a week ago, I had a 2012. I get the exact same feeling. We went on two, 2 hour road trips and I was uncomfortable at speeds in the 70s. Just making small movements or hitting bumps made me feel uneasy

I on the other hand find mine to hard to steer at highway speeds.. No more finger tip steering now whole arm movements are needed. Very tiring on long trips. But truck tracks perfectly no side pulling and no play so I'm not going to let them mess with it.
I miss how nice my 2002 handled.
