Default South Korea Maps for GPS?

I just received orders to South Korea and I was wondering if Ford has a map for it so I can still use the navigation system in my truck. I tried google, but nothing came up. Thanks.

Is it even practical to take your truck? I have friends who have done deployments there and they have left thier vehicles home and buy beaters to drive while they are there.

Bigger question is, will the military even ship it there? When I went to Japan for 3 years I wasn't able to take any vehicles, except motorcycles.

Yeah they will ship it. And I am going to take it because I don't want it sitting for 2 years while I am making payments. I will be further south, so I am not dealing with Seoul, and honestly, I won't drive it much while I am there because of public transportation. It is my wife and I's only vehicle. And at the end of the day, even though I love the truck, it's still just a truck. If it gets a little dinged up, then oh well. It's not the end of the world.

No worries man, if I could have taken my 05 to Japan, I probably would have. So it went to storage and was pretty well taken care of for 3 years while there, they even put a new battery in it and I paid it off.

Good luck over there and enjoy yourself.

Looks to me that Ford sells in the South Korean market, so that would be a plus. Although your vehicle is for the US market so that might not be a plus. I would contact a Ford dealer and ask them who to contact for your map quest. Thank for your service and enjoy the kimchi. The hotter the better.

Another thought: If they do have the maps, are they going to be in English or Korean? Or do you read/write Korean?

Have a great time in Korea, loved it I did. Why don't you sell it while in Korea and make serious bank & get a new one when you rotate home.

Man, you Americans boys are lucky with your international postings/deployments.

For the most part we got Afghanistan and Canada lol. There are Canadian boys all over but mostly Spec Ops stuff.

Good luck out there OP!

Thanks. I have been there before for 9 months. When the option came up, it was either this, or a place where I would have frequent deployments. With a newborn, I didn't want to miss a bunch of the first few years like I did with my son. This way I am home every night.

I wonder what the resale value for one of these trucks are in Korea. I have no idea what it would go for.
