SiriusXM Intermittent

I haven't had horrible problems with Sirius cutting out yet. If it makes any of you feel better, which I'm sure it won't, I was in my dad's 2015 4Runner yesterday and the XM radio on the Toyota Entune seemed to cut out worse than my Sync 3 Sirius.
For those of you who don't love Sync 3, I have to say the 8" Ford screen and simple interface are way ahead of the 4-5" screen on the 4Runner.

Having the same issue with cutout on my '16 F150, also in my wife's '16 Escape. I had it in my '09 Ranger and never had these issues. Talked to Sirius the other day and they did a reset of the radio and I have not had a chance to get out much since then. (Dam back injury). The person I was talking to said some other things, but with the deep accent I am not 200% sure of what she was saying. If it doesn't get better I will be cancelling all my subscriptions.

I just bought my 2016 and my satellite is cutting out all the time. I'm in Dallas, so no hills. I'd expect it in parking garages, under overpasses etc but it happens on a clear day with no obstructions. It's very frustrating.

I guess i'm the only one that thinks the audio quality just sucks (not when it's cutting out, when it works, it sounds like it's at some 9600bps codec).

I suspect they use different coding for different channels depending on the content type and audience. Although it sounds strange, I think they throw extra bandwidth to Howard Stern vs. some of the 60's and classic rock channels. I hear some of the same music being played on the Howard Stern channel and it sounds better then when I hear the same music on say classic rock channel. They have to re-encode the audio and possibly stat-mux it all before sending up to the satellite to save bandwidth, they can tune the stations quality / bitrate to meet some minimum MOS score. Not that I know anything about this!
Overall besides Sirius, I am a bit mift why my radio doesn't have FM HD. I'm moving from a Tacoma which had HD radio in 2012 to a 2016 rig and I guess it doesn't have it..

If she thinks normal FM radio sounds ok and Sirius audio sounds bad, then new speakers won't help, it's the codec / encoding params Siris is using to save bandwidth.

And I'm glad it does, as once the Sirius trial is over, one of the only decent stations in my area is a -2 station.

Just FIX it- 2016 F150 Sirius XM
The SiriusXM problem has ruined my new truck experience. It makes me want to shove this truck, a truck that I love, back into the face of the dealer.
While I love the truck, I hate that my stories and interviews are constantly interrupted. I don't listen to music. Missing a few beats of music wouldn't be so bad, but to miss an important point in a story or an interview that can never be retrieved is really aggravating.
The bulletin I referenced in the OP is now closing in on being two months old.
The salesman promised to keep me updated but I only hear from him when I ask. And, I do NOT constantly pester him. I only ask about once every two weeks and only then because of radio silence on his part despite his promise. I would call that pretty good restraint for something that is driving me crazy. It's totally ruining my new truck experience.
When I sent an impassioned plea yesterday the salesman simply replied with a terse 'They are still working on it'.
I'm angry at this point. I was never more excited to get this truck. Great truck. But every time I drive it the constant SiriusXM signal loss puts me into a foul mood. I walk into work ready to bite nails. Every morning.
I'm now getting the feeling that I'm being stonewalled. It's starting to feel like I have to live with it. If that turns out to be the case I want to get rid of the truck even though I truly like the truck itself. If I'm blocked from enjoying it, what's the point?

EXACTLY this.
I've had Sirius going on 10 years in half a dozen vehicles. I currently have it in 4 vehicles. This is a FORD problem.
Love my truck but this annoying problem ruins the driving experience in my new truck.
FIX it!!!

I have had my 2016 Lariat for just over a week now. I don't use the Satellite Radio feature a lot as I prefer my USB drive with my music over programed channels.
I was coming home late on Saturday from a Cobra Club meet about midnight and driving in a very rural area without buildings and pretty much without many trees as it is all farm fields. The last 20 minutes of my drive the Satellite Radio display only showed "Acquiring Signal" I could not change the Satellite channel, and no input on the Sync 3 was accepted. AM/FM worked fine. Makes me wonder if it is an antenna issue or perhaps something in the SYNC 3 system causing the issue. I will report it at the 1st service interval.
