Default Secret storage area

Any creative uses for the area behind the rear seat driver's side that is not meant to fold down but does? I'm thinking of taking out the cardboard stuff, using dynamat because it is thinner, and having a little more storage area behind the rear seats. Every inch counts for out of sight protected storage.

I gave up on trying to get my SCAB seat to fold down as I can't get my hand in there.

Open it once use a piece of stranded wire and a washer and attach it to the pull. Take the stranded wire and washer and hook it on a magnet or some place you can grab it and give it a pull. Then you don't have to get your hand back there. At least it worked like that on my 2010.

The trick also is to pull the seats up first. Notice how the back rocks forward.. Makes it somewhat easier to do. I used a metal hanger to pull mine up.

It's where I hide my Werther's Originals.... :P

So far I've got an ice-scraper, a set of ratchet tie-downs, flash light, small tool kit, and some cleaning stuff tucked back there. It's a bit messy but it works. I ended up putting the tie-downs into zip-loc bags to keep them from becoming a tangled mess every time I root around for things.

it helps to know it does not pull straight up ..press it up and toward the rear, after you raise the bottom seat to give access...its easy

But you have a Platinum and they only come in crew cab so you must have a crew cab. I have a super cab and the seat is a little different in how it releases. Seat bottom up or down still no room to get my hand down there to grab the strap. The strap loop is pointed the wrong way tomake it easy to hook something through it. Box wrench can't find anything to catch on to. Hemostat just grabs what feels like the seat liner.

that's because the strap is most likely not what you're looking for to fold the seat down it's a metal latch (at least on the Screws )

I have a SUPER CAB aka EXTENDED CAB.. From the pictures posted mine should have a short black strap loop which the opening faces the back of the cab and the back of the seat.
