Second Test Drive Tomorrow Before Probable Purchase
We have an appt. tomorrow at All American Ford in NJ to test drive an F150.
Here is my question to all of you.
In my last and only test drive two weeks back at a different dealer we drove a '16 Platinum. Two in fact, a white one and a black one.
It wasn't until I them smartened up and joined this fine community that I realized two things we experienced are indeed known problems. Not major mind you, but when one is spending upwards of 60 large, small problems that rear their ugly head during a test drive can be disheartening to put it mildly
I'm speaking of the audio silence problem and the lack of seat cooling from the backrest. Both of our current vehicles have seat cooling. We live in hot, humid NY. We regard it as a great and important feature.
The first white platinum's radio was silent for the entire test. Salesman tried in vain to get it on. It also had no cool air emanating from seat back.
Black one had same cooling problem but radio worked.
So tomorrow when we test drive both a King Ranch and Platinum, if they should exhibit either problem, would that be a deal breaker for you?

Well, at least theres an aftermarket fix since Fords is halfass. Ask 500 off at the end of your negoation for the faulty seats yhat you'll have to fix yourself.
Other than that 1flaw, I absolutely love my F150!

I agree with that advice. But I really need to stop reading here. The more I read of problems, which as I've said elsewhere I expect, the more I read about lousy dealer service. Do you think Ford service is up to snuff when it comes to caring about fixing an expensive truck?
Back in 2004 I was one of the first owners of the VW Touareg. I loved that SUV, even though it had many teething problems. One thing I didn't like was the incompetence of the dealer service, and I tried quite a few and they all sucked.
Nowadays when we have problems we get loaner cars so the inconvenience is minimized.

Get a cheaper version and put heated and cooled after market seats in!!! I have them and they are 20000000X better than any brand of trucks cooled seats. Kat skins make them 1900 bucks for both front seats cooled and heated leather and rear leather.

Get the one you like best. Tell the dealer whatever must be fixed is part of the deal and must be fixed before you take delivery. I have a black on black platinum in hot az and love it. Great AC.

2010, 2011, 2013 and now 2015. I have to say in all honesty the 15 seats are horrible. Most uncomfortable than any other year I have owned and my wife the most important passenger agrees.

My seats are very comfortable. No problems with my truck at all. I really love the adaptive cruise and the power running boards. I use these, on previous trucks without the power boards, they were so high that i would just slide out of the truck and it was wearing on the side of the seat.

I don't want to get out of my truck after driving it...it is comfortable. I found the trick on the lumbar adjustment, is to increase the top and bottom fully, and set the middle to minimum....sounds weird, but it's the setting most comfortable to me. And love the massaging seats...really don't want to get out of the truck.
