Default Scheduled build date

For those of you that have already ordered, I'm wondering if any of you know your build date. I ordered mine on 8-10 (dealer stock). The dealer e-mailed me today with a scheduled build date of 10-27, so roughly 10 weeks from the order date. Based on that, he said to expect delivery early to mid December.

Is that consistent with what you guys are seeing?

Seven to ten weeks has been the norm for every F-150 I've special ordered since 1997.

Ordered mine on 7/30/14 and also have a tentative build date 10/27/14. Dealership said VIN and confirmed date should come this week. Shipping should not take more than two weeks(in my area) from past experiences.

Ordered the first day on 7/28 as the dealership's first order. No information yet as it was ordered as a retail order (X-Plan) priority 10 and not a dealer order.

I may be able to get a 2015 Ford F150 Supercrew depending on when I seek better employment. But I know I definitely want the 6.5 box. 4x4. Tail gate step and definitely leather seats. Im sticking with either the XLT or the Lariat depending on availability. I would take a 2014 if thats available since I know some dealerships are still trying to get rid of new 2013 units.

Unless there's a po code I don't know about leather is not available on XLTs. They're not dealing much on the 14s from what I've heard to maintain stock thru changeover.

Ive seen 2014 XLTs with leather seats at both of my local Ford Dealerships as I do on Sundays go to the Ford Dealerships and window shop on the F150 Supercrews. And I even see many on Auto trader with leather. Im pulling my new truck off of the lot since its cheaper then pre ordering. I have noticed on the 15 the XLT appears on the chart not to have the leather seats but I have noticed that the XLT sport looks to have black cloth which is good so I dont have to downgrade back to gray as my current 2009 Ford Focus SE has black cloth seats. But most times I hope to get a 2014 so my truck matches my uncles truck except being a 2014 XLT or Lariat instead of 2013 Platinum.

The non-availability of a leather interior on the 2015 XLT was likely the greatest disappointment for me. A buyer must now go up to a Lariat to get leather & a console shifter combo...a $7,805 bump in base pricing. IMO, the Lariat is not worth the bump.

Default Technology Issues

I ordered a Plat (dealer stock) and stopped in at dealer yesterday to get oil changed on my 11 and dealer principal told me he can't get the Plat scheduled as Ford sent a memo about 10 days ago that they have "technology" problems on the 360 camera system and park assist and will not schedule Plats until resolved.

Anyone Plat buyers get an build date and VIN yet?

Thanks.

And so it begins. In threads concerning the release of GMs new trucks there were (and to a certain extent still are) many of these "technology problems" on their new features - things like the sliding rear window mechanisms and moonroof shortages and very poor FM radio reception and slipping seats. OK, those shouldn't have been new technology to GM exactly but they sure presented major problems for them, sometimes necessitating a production halt or sales restrictions.

I expect much the same will plague Ford's new truck release until well into next year. I want the new technology they have announced, all of it in fact, but sometimes I feel as if those features are more marketing promotions than features I can realistically expect to buy and work correctly right off the bat.
