Default Rust Question

I have read some post where owners are finding a lot of rust on there axles. I looked under my 2012 Platinum and found no rust and I drive on roads every year with salt and also do a fair amount of beach driving. I was just wondering how many people have found a rust issue. I have been keeping a list of the things that are posted here to check for on my truck when it arrives.

Yup, got it on mine. Dealership wouldn't fix, said it will eventually happen....to which I said, not if it's coated!

I'm going to fix it myself, I'll probably do a better job anyways.

Would be nice if Ford Service stepped up and fixed it for free.

Had it on mine. Dealer had no problem sand blasting and painting for me.

Apparently it's been a problem for a long time...

I don't remember seeing it on my 1997, but it's been a long time since I've looked under that one.

You planning on just using a spray paint to redo or something else. By the the way I live about 60 miles from you in Advance NC.

Great dealer you have there. If any is on my truck I will tell them other dealers are making it right and see if they will do the same for me.

Howdy neighbor!

I plan on cleaning it up (while it's on a lift), hitting it with some rustoleum, then a final coat with por15 once I find it.

I tried the "other dealerships are fixing it" and I got the "well, our service guy said....." At that point, I didn't want to argue, got in my truck, and split.

Hey Dirt 1956, how about publishing that list. I have an ETA of 4/14 and I'd like to see it!

I have 18 items to check before I accept the truck. This is from what I have read from others posting on here. Give me a few minutes as I'm on a iPad and will post my list.

Just got my survey....made sure to mention the rust on the 60k new truck a couple times. Hope it gets someones attention. I may hold off on trying to fix it myself for a few weeks to see if Ford steps up to the plate.

Any help FordService?
