Default Retrofit ambient lighting on an XLT?

Just took home a new XLT 302a s-crew sport 3.5 ecoboost loaded to the max (even found one with the twin panel moonroof). Dorky as it sounds, what I envy the most about the Lariats is the ambient lighting, just so sleek imo. For everything thats on my xlt, I could have bought a 501a lariat for around $1,500 over msrp on the XLT, almost pulled the trigger on one until I realized rebates were $2500 less on the Lariat so it would have been a 4k difference, pass...

I'm just wondering if the XLT's have the same wiring harness that would make it possible to retrofit the ambient lighting? Anyone dabble with this yet?

Absolutely loving the truck so far, came from a '13 XLT s-cab 5.0, this makes for my 4th F150 in the last 10yrs. My only gripe is the stupid little mirrors that make me feel cross eyed when I look through them...

I'm in the same boat, XLT 302a with every option... Curious to find out about the ambient lighting, I was thinking of adding an aftermarket kit.

I almost went XLT because of the extra $2500 in rebates. The end result was I wasn't going to be happy unless I get what I wanted. The thing that makes parking in my tight garage easier is the power folding mirrors. Plus I love the leather seats and 8" productivity screen and push button start. Heck, I could keep going but I won't

Not sure, but like above almost went xlt but after sitting in the lariat was the changer. Had an older xlt that I loved. The 302 package is nice.

Also another game changer for me to go with the XLT vs Lariat was seeing pictures of Katzkins on XLT's vs the leather on the Lariats. I think the Katzkin dual tone leather with contrast stitching looks much classier than the OEM leather on the Lariats. I had a local dealer quote me $1100 for full install of the Katzkins before I even bought the truck, and plan on getting it done in the near future. Now if I can just find a way to get the ambient lighting, I'll have me a have a "poor man's" Lariat.

are you referring to the led lighting in the roof that shines down or the floorboard lighting?

No they mean the color changing lighting in the console, by the glove box and doors!

Wiring is likely not there. Unless Ford has changed they make specific wiring harnesses based on options. Even if you were to add it, you would have to have your MFT system reprogrammed to control it. You will never find a dealer that can/will do that.

I thought that Ford made an ambient lighting kit available as an accessory through the dealer
