Default Rear seat won't latch!

Hey all, I finally was able snag the loop on my rear seat and drop the back, but now, I can't get it to re-latch. I've moved the latching bar up and down, to no avail. The latch doesn't look like the bar would even fit enough to make the latch flip. Any advice! TIA

Oh thank sucks, I put a zip tie threw my loop to make it easier to find behind the seat. Sometimes that zip tie gets in the way of the latch when putting the seat back to normal position. I really have to slam mine to get it to catch tho. Make sure the loop isn't getting in he way of the latch. That's the best I can do for ya...Mabe some others will chime in with better advise

I reach back behind seat and release the latch as I'm letting it down. I'll hold it up til it catches and push down .

I had this issue, too. Been a bit since I flipped it down, but the seat itself has to be flipped up I believe in order for the seat-back to latch into place.

x3 with the seat. I had to push the backrest back as I moved the seat from upright to the down position for it to latch. Kinda tricky. I need to put the zip tie on the latch so it's easier to undo later.

You need to line up the slider with the latch striker, it moves when you pivot the seat.
If you look behind there you will see what I mean.

Well, I found out that if you place the palm of your hand directly in front of the latch, and push firmly, the seat will latch. After 15 minutes of slamming the seatback and cussing up a storm, the gentle touch was the solution.

Standard response in these situations to advise you to hit it with your purse. However that standard response is really for another forum that deals with guns and other ickey things.

So, make sure the headrest is folded down. Gently close the seat back while leaning over to ensure your latch is matching up with the mechanism. Might have to raise or partially raise the seat to have them match up.

Then hit it with your purse.
