I was sad to learn you must have USB cable plugged into phone for the AutoPlay to work. If that ends up true, I am not sure how much I would use the new features except for longer drives.

Hey, I have a great idea: Why not quit playing with your effing phones while driving and just drive. This is the crap that gets folks injured and killed (go ahead and ask me how I know).

(somewhat sarcastic, somewhat serious).

Stay tuned. Word has it that there may be a fairly inexpensive option to get this functionality for older vehicles.

I'm almost always plugged in in order to charge anyway.

IMO, they aint

ain't that the truth. My crown vic with about 150K miles and about 174K butt hours still has more comfortable seats.

Change happens in every industry. And if you wait to purchase because of what may come in the future, than you will never buy anything, as there always is something coming that will be better, faster, cheaper, smaller/larger on the horizon.

Just enjoy your truck and quit stressing over it. You will be happier.

You do understand that carplay and android auto make it so you can use your phone without using your phone. It adds functionality through voice commands that are lacking in the current software. This prevents people from having to look at their phones.
