Default Rattling trailer hitch

Never had this problem, before buying my 15' F150 XLT Crew. I can't seem to find a receiver hitch that will fit fairly snug into the receiver. Never had this problem with my GM. So far, each one rattles over bumps and just seems to be too loose inside the receiver. Any suggestions??

Two options... I use the first but you have to drill a small hole in the hitch but works very well.

Found another one that looks nice.

This also looks interesting.

Do you leave it in all the time? If so why? I have never noticed mine rattle when I had it hooked up. The biggest thing I get is the slop in the pin when it sometimes bangs forward when stopping or taken off.

If I left it in all the time I would just put something under it to jam it. But if you tow with it jam'd up or down. Make sure you remove what ever it is before towing with it.

I bought a pack of composite shims at Lowe's. It was $1.85 for a 12 pack. Shoved one between the receiver and the top of the hitch. I figured the weight of the trailer would be holding it down anyways, so why try to fight gravity. I don't notice the rattle unloaded, and there is no difference at all when towing. Also thought about the other solutions, but my way was cheap and easy.
