Where is everyone actually mounting their detectors? I wanted to try to mount mine from the mirror but the camera housing underneath looks like it will prevent such a mount. Are you going to the side of the mirror? Thanks.

Did you not see the picture I posted? It's a 23 but can't see it being much of a difference than the 15.

I'm assuming you meant a '13 and in my '13 it would work fine. In my new '15, however, I have a big camera housing behind/underneath the mirror that houses the camera for the lane keeping system along with various other options (I think).

Yes meant 13, was aware of the camera on the 15s.

Ok. In looking at it, I just don't see the room to get the clamp around the arm holding the mirror with that camera there. There "might" be room right at the base of the mirror itself but then I think the detector would be sticking out past the mirror which I wouldn't like.

Which fuse did you go to? Just curious so I don't have recreate the wheel.

No need to run down the A pillar all the way to the fuse box. Pull the upper console panel down and access the wiring to the sliding rear window. About three inches above the plug, inside of the wrapping, is a loop of brown wire coming from the plug. This wire is a switched +12V, so this is where you want to tap into the power. Above the upper console panel is square tubing that's about 1" X 2", which is a perfect spot to attach your ground wire with a self-tapping screw. From there just feed your cable to the V1 (or whatever) out the front of the headliner. It makes for an almost invisible installation, much better IMO than the BlendMount which has your detector conspicuously hanging from the rear view mirror.

I've got that same power cable from Escort and was pondering how to install it. Where did you locate the in-line mute switch module? If it is a nice installation, I'd love to see a picture. Thanks!

Which plug do you tap into the brown wire on? The one on the right? Where did you guys put the in-line mute switch? I am considering putting it near the garage door stuff.
