I went over to a local Car Audio store called Mobile One Auto Sound and had them install a hidden power cord I purchased from Escort. The power cord has an inline mute switch to mute the Escort Radar detector. The total cost to install the power cord was $50.00 labor and $25.00 for the power cord from Escort.
Here is a picture.

This is exactly what I want to do. I already have the hardwire cord from Escort.

Trying to do the same thing in my new Platinum... did you ever find out which pins to use? Tried my best to test them myself, but these oldish eyes just can't focus on those pins while contorting myself enough to see them.

Did the same thing with my Valentine 1. Then hid the wire under the headliner and along the A piller, behind the dash down to the fuse box on passenger side. Once I determined which fuse was switched, took about 10-15 minutes.
