I dont think that grid you see is Heated, isnt it for the Rain Sensing Wipers?

Dont the rain sensing wipers and auto brights worked off the camera mounted there. I thought that was heating elements keeping ice off the camera.

Using a mirror tap, just need to know where to tap?

Trying to do the same thing in my new Platinum... did you ever find out which pins to use? Tried my best to test them myself, but these oldish eyes just can't focus on those pins while contorting myself enough to see them.

Did the same thing with my Valentine 1. Then hid the wire under the headliner and along the A piller, behind the dash down to the fuse box on passenger side. Once I determined which fuse was switched, took about 10-15 minutes.
