Default Radar detector mount

I'm planning a purchase early next year and just doing some research so I can easily move from my 07 F 150 to the 17. Has anyone mounted a Valentine 1 radar detector to the rear view mirror. My current truck I used a blendmount product and tapped power from the mirror. Please pass on any suggestions you may have.

I have a Blendmount in my Corvette that was about $125-$150 (???) that works well. For my '16 KR I was wanting one. Stumbled onto this from Amazon. MIRROR RADAR MOUNT Only $36 and someone on here reports it works well. I have one on order that should be here later this week. They have power taps as well that are similar to the InvisiCord that I have on my Vette.

Wow. That almost looks just like the blendmount and for a fraction of the cost. Thanks for the tip. Let me know how the wiring goes. After my initial install I added Savey to my detector. It works pretty well. I can't remember at the moment but I'm thinking with that you don't have to tap the vehicle wiring. Are you familiar with the Savey that V1 sells?

I have that one that Amazon sells. Works great. I also have Savvy. You don't have to tap into power for the unit, the Savvy module gets its power from the OBD port so it knows when to mute the alerts. When you have Savvy your OBD port is always occupied, something to keep in mind if you have an Ultra-gauge or something of that sort.

I actually have an Escort 9500ix detector... But I noticed they sold the same mirror mount for the Valentine detector. Thanks for the info though!

That Amazon mount rattles which drives me crazy. The Blend Mount is quiet and worth the extra money IMO.

I mounted my V1 up and to the left of the mirror, directly on the windshield just outside the black dots. I then hardwired the power into the upper console and tapped into the rear view window switch (before the switch) which is a switched power source that comes on with the key.

Just curious why you guys are looking for a 3rd party mount? Is it in order to easily tap into power, or you just don't want it on the windshield?

I have the Amazon mount with an escort and it rattled... until I bent the metal piece above the release button which puts pressure on the detector and the rattling stopped.

It's a great mount for little money!

My older detector has two suction cups that lose their suction when extremely hot, extremely cold, and high altitude. I live in Denver and those conditions exist constantly. It makes it easier to clean the windshield. The easy wiring is a bonus!
