Quality control? Poor quaility? = Future issues?

Fair enough, I guess there just seems to be more of a negative vibe here than I remember over at the Tundra and Tacoma forums I use to post on. At least on the mechanical side. Most of our bitching had to do with Toyota not giving us, the customer, what we wanted.

I'd draw your own conclusions and I agree with what I think you're seeing. I'm on both of those forums too and it is a bit different. I have no bias either way, and yes this forum is a subset of all F150 buyers, but there are a lot of people who like to explain away problems when it comes to this truck. If you're coming from a Tundra or thinking about it, quality and reliability are going to be less...that's just the difference between makers. With that said, not all F150s have problems and not all Tundras are super reliable with zero issues.
I think if you compare the forums and the feedback, you ARE comparing similar audiences. Both groups are passionate about their vehicles. Both groups rely on a community to determine how widespread applicable issues are and what fixes work or don't work. There does appear to be more quality control issues from the F150 in my opinion, but on this forum, plenty of people want to explain it away - oh they sell xxx a year, oh it's just a truck so don't worry about it, oh you didn't spend enough money to buy luxury, what else looks as nice, at least it's not a dodge etc. Obviously, no offense to anyone, but this has been my experience reading here the past 6-8 months.

FWIT I purchased a 2016 new in February.
No problems and no concerns. I'm very impressed with the overall fit/finish and performance.
And I'm as OCD as they come.

For me I have zero brand loyalty. All I want is a comfortable, capable and reliable truck for years to come. In reality I'm looking for a 4WD luxury truck. If I go with a Tundra I'm picking up a 1794 if I go with a Ford a Platinum 3.5EB. So the for is a little more expensive, has more comfortable seating and better fuel economy. I plan on keeping this truck for 10 years. I would still have my 07 Tundra if life didn't get in the way. But such is life.

Took delivery of the vehicle, and while driving away the tranny or transfer case started grinding VERY loudly, and wouldn't go anywhere. Put it in park, then back to drive and all was good. Happened again down the road. Took it back to dealer and went home in a demo truck. Something in the tranny I think. Truck has 10 miles on it.
