while there are some/few w/ true reliability problems, most are niggly little probs for a $40-50k truck. my seats don't work right, is that reliability or a nuisance? see what I mean? and if the sunroof looks, I'd consider that a reliability issue.

Yep the Ford is a great truck but they are over priced compared to competition. Will be interesting to see if they hold value better. I think they are all about the same with depreciation. But yes, the Ford trucks are over priced.

I'm looking at a 16 Platinum. Having a hard time justifying a $16,500 price increase compared to my 2011 F150 Platinum that I had.
I understand the 16 has more refinements, do dads etc, but Wow!

The trade-in value on the 2011 was what made it possible for me.

Ford isn't having any problems selling their trucks.

brand new model (F150) with and superior mpg / all-new aluminum body vs. face-lifted but outgoing models (Sierra / Silverado).
Once GM launches their aluminum trucks - next gen Sierra/Silverado you are likely to see less rebates/discounts there as well
last but not least: I gladly pay more for a truck with 70% domestic components and assembled in Dearborn or KC vs. the "made in silao/mexico" Crew Cab Sierras/Silverados with just 40% domestic components. You are pressed hard to find a less american full size truck than the Sierra/Silverado. Just calling it "Texas Edition" doesn't make it American. The workers in Silao probably giggle when they slap that Texas Star on the truck.

Ditto - But there are lots of owners who have bought and will buy without realizing they are over priced. But thats not all bad, Ford had a lot riding on the new F-150's and overall it's been a success! They're in business to make profits and will charge what the market will pay. Until enough customers say enough is enough, these truck prices will continue to rise. Note: their is a reason XLTs offer such big discounts, commercial customers are Fords bread and butter. Private party sales, that's where the big profits are!
