2015 Platinum Premature Frame Rust
I just traded in my 2012 F150 EcoBoost in on a 2015 Platinum model. Figured that I work hard and am due for the luxury. However I noticed today when I was installing my mud flaps that I had a ton of rust on the frame, undercarriage, springs, axle and gear box. Much more that on the truck I traded in and I have not even put 200 miles on the new one yet. Is this normal? Will the dealer scrape and repaint? What are my options? This is not what I would expect on a 60K vehicle. any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tone

Yikes. It's hard to get away from rust, it will happen eventually, but being 200 miles on the thing I would say something to the dealer and complain...if not I think long term this truck might have issues.

My truck was the same way and I bought it a month after its built date. I doubt Ford will do anything.

It's bs if they don't. Honestly it looks like the truck was assembled and sat outside for a couple months before the body and bed was sat down on it. It doesn't look terrible now, but if not taken care of it will be a problem down the road, and Ford should do something about the trucks affected like this. If not there might be a Toyota like fiasco, with recalling frames for rotting.

Yeah, I cant say that I am very happy about my brand new Platinum looking like this. Not to mention there are scuffs in my paint and I have the issue with my center rear seat not going back in. I have driven Fords since 1994 and right now I cant say I'm pleased with my new purchase.

It's strictly cosmetic and isn't hurting anything. My 2012 and 2016 looked similar underneath, mostly like the last two pics. I was pretty upset when I saw it on my new 2012 but after researching it realized it was a common issue. If it's a big deal, ask for a deal on a long term extended warranty. I doubt Ford will do anything to repair it.
