Waiting to see if ford fixed this in the 2017s. New inverter? Sucks that it will be way overpriced to buy outright but if the '17 has a new one and it fixes it then we will have a way out....if you are still under warranty that is.

Has anyone had any luck going to the dealer?
I took mine is last week for the same issues you are having and they replaced it. Not even having it back a day guess what.....it still does the same thing! Let me know what you find out if you take yours in.

I have the same problem with the 170W power adapter for my Lenovo W540. The 170W power adapter for my Lenovo W520. They do this without being plugged into the laptop. I think the inrush current of the W540 power adapter exceeeds the 400W power limit, and the inverter shuts down as it should.

I have a 2017 and my Milwaukee charger puts the power point into fault mode. Disappointing.

On the bright side I have a 40 volt Ice auger that the charger does work with the trucks power point.

I found out the hard way yesterday they didn't make any improvements. Went to my deer lease and had planned on cleaning out a couple of deer stands with a small vac. Would not work ! This is the very reason I ordered the inverter on my 2017 F-150 Lariat in order to use it outside. I got the truck in January 2017 and this is the first time I have tried to use the inverter. If I would have known how crappy this thing was I never would have ordered it as an option. Should have just gotten an aftermarket type.

FWIW I have a Milwaukee battery powered vac. It looks like a tool box.
DeWalt also makes one. Very handy. The wife likes it too.

My DeWalt 20v charger worked when I plugged it. That was nice considering my previous craftsman 19.2 charger would not.
