Default Is it possible? Heated seats with remote start?

Has anyone found out a way to make the heated seats automatically turn on when you use the remote start? I have an XLT with the button on the dash. It's super annoying that there isn't a setting for this. At least when I had my Titan there was a rocker switch that you could put in always "on" so the seats would warm up if the truck was running.

Thanks,
Chad

If you have the factory remote start they should come on automatically if the setting is checked in your vehicle. It's under your vehicle settings in the gauge cluster. It is temperature controled though so depend on how cold outside or hot outside for cooled seats if you have them.

FYI The lights will not illuminate during the remote start process.

I've seen the option to set it as the last setting or automatic but that didn't seem to work. I'll try it again and see.

FYI I have the large screen for the radio but the small one in the dash.

I have the same as you. I leave mine set at automatic setting. The heated seats do come on, but I am not sure if it does it all the time. It might be temp based??? but it does work.

There is a separate setting for the seats. The automatic, or last setting is for the climate control.

Really where is it, does it turn on the steering wheel also? Warmed up my truck yesterday for 15 minutes and seats and wheel were still cold. And I thought I had it set right.

I have an XLT as well and haven't had the heated seats come on when remote starting. I live in the south and the lowest temp I've remote started was 37. I believe the xlt only has two options: automatic and last settings. No options for seats and we don't have steering wheel heat. Maybe the trucks are smart and turn certain things on/off when needed but not sure.

Here is an insert from the owners manual but doesn't state if this is for all models and doesn't define "hot" or "cold" temps.

Automatic Settings
In hot weather, the system is set to 72°F
(22°C). The cooled seats are set to high
(if available, and selected to AUTO in the
information display).
In moderate weather, the system either
heats or cools (based on previous
settings). The rear defroster, heated
mirrors and heated seats do not
automatically turn on.
In cold weather, the system is set to 72°F
(22°C). The heated seats are set to high
(if available, and selected to AUTO in the
information display). The rear defroster
and heated mirrors automatically turn on.
