Default please explain the logic for leveling

as a new platinum owner i have been following this board and see constant reference to leveling....as a houston resident every fifth vehicle i see is a ford truck and to me they pretty much seem the same ...so what is the advantage to leveling...and why not just throw two bags of sacrete in the back...just wondering seems like a lot of work

Better stance, fit larger tire, more ground clearance for larger mall parking lot curbs, etc.

Dropping the rear is also an option, all personal preference

Pretty much for looks, and fitting a slightly larger tire.

'cause 'Merica?

(note, I'm in Canada...) in other words, people do whatever makes them happy, whether it makes sense or not!

Some people it's functional, some people it's aesthetics; Some people it's both.

I'd like to level my truck after a slight lift just for the ride height and looks. And I'm one of those godless heathens that will be lifting a 4x2. Oh the indignity.

Lets not forget the Fuel mileage you drop because of wind resistance
This is my only Neg towards the level especially for the people who went 3.5eco for fuel then leveled out there truck.

Really? I would say that the large tires are the cause of the MPG drop not so much the leveling.

If u bought the 3.5 Eco for the mileage I afraid you may be disappointed. I bought the 3.5 Eco (for the 2nd time) because it's a bad MF'er. Best 1/2 ton truck motor around IMHO. That's said the mileage is overrated. Level/ lift away.

Everyone pretty much hit the nail on the head. I'm personally going to level because in my opinion it makes the truck look mean as hell.

You could lower the rear. A lot of people remove the rear block which levels the truck. As said it's all personal preference

Ground clearance, and clearance for bigger tires. A little function and a little bit of looks. I think lift kits are jenky, but I have no issues with leveling.
