Placed order yesterday, buyers remorse already?
Finally placed an order yesterday for a Platinum. My original plan was to go with the 3.5 EB however the service manager talked me out of it due to the amount of issues they are still seeing with the EB engines compared to that of the 5.0L. Anyone else get the 5.0L that wishes you got the EB instead? The majority of the time I will not be hauling a trailer so towing capacity is not on my high priority list.
Update:
May 27.... Final decision was made and I stuck with the 5.0L but went with 3.55's instead of 3.31's. Looking forward to it arriving someday in the not so distant future.

I was the other way around when I bought my 2011 Ecoboost. I kept it for 4 years and only had the #3 coil go. I just purchased a 5.0 XLT Sport and miss some of the EB torque but the 5.0 still hauls *** and sounds good doing it.

I don't think you could go wrong with any of the motors but like Ghosthex said the torque of the eco is nice.

wish your service manager would let Ford know about all of the problems, because they haven't gotten that message.

I had an EB with my 2012 F150 and never had an issue in 35,000 miles. So I had no reservations about ordering my new 2015 with the same engine again. My 15 EB feels like it has a little more pep and is smoother. Remember the EB engine is a very advanced engine compared to a 5.0 so there may be a few more issues here and there and Ford will fix it.

I had the EB on my 13 Lariat and loved it so i had no reservations about getting it on my 15. So far it is great and the drivers seat dyno says it has more power than the 13.

Not sure where the hesitation comes from on your svc mgr. was he a tech when ford screwed up the desiel turbos and is pissed at turbos? Honestly I have around 51k on my 2012 ecoboost and I expect my 2015 ecoboost to land in the next week.

I had a 2011 EB and never had one issue aside from a battery failing the first week....same story with my current 2013 which ALSO lost a battery early on.
I was frankly ready to order a 5.0 until I factored several things into my thinking:
1. Living over a mile high, altitude robs the 5.0 of 18-20% power but the EB does great at altitude, especially on hills
2. Drove a 2015 EB up here and it just seemed peppier and fresher than the 5.0 I also drove and swifter feeling than either of my prior two EBs.
3. Miss the V8 sound....don't start with the synthetic "V-8 Sound" I have seen talked about here.....but I have two vintage Corvettes I can crank up if I really want SOUND.....side pipes will do that....ha ha
SO, I have a 2015 EB on order and really looking forward to getting it.....but....I do not think either available engine (Platinum) is a bad choice....IMHO

But, that said, the divide between 5.0 and 3.5EB is pretty even here it seems, so you will probably find yourself left with making that choice for yourself.
Personally, I switched from 5.0 to 3.5EB after some testdrives and talking to other local owners. I think I would have been happy either way, though.
Fortunately my change was something the dealer could do without any major grunting since my order hadn't gone in for building yet.
