Passenger airbag cover bump
So my passenger airbag cover grows a bump now when the dash heats up in the warmer weather. Goes away when it cools. Shop says they need to remove dash to get to it and this will be their first on a 2015. Anyone know how extensive the dash removal would be to get to this part. Apparently it's screwed in from behind based on what they are telling me. My worry is the dash won't go back the same way and I will get rattles.

your whole dash will need replaced. Im not joking. Both of my 2015 Mustangs had this issue. They wanted to tear out the whole dash to fix it. No way. It sucks. Dash boards rarely go back together as they were originally.

2015 warranty yes it means dash removal but it can be done and if it isn't right do it over until it is. You shouldn't have to look at that on a new truck or an old one for that mater.

Who designs an interior where if the air bag needs servicing or in this case the air bag cover the dash has to come apart to get to it. Blows my mind. Hoping a Ford tech/body shop tech pipes in and comments on how intrusive of a repair this will be.

I literally just told you. Look up the part number. It involves removing all components necessary to remove the dashboard itself, which is everything almost. Hell if it were me doing it id take the steering wheel off just to make it easier. I got rid of both of my Mustangs because as others said, the interior may get scratched up, sorry, but the tech WILL miss screws. Doesn't mean he's bad at his job, but **** happens. And God forbid that screw fall in a cavity under the dash. It'll rattle the entire time you own the truck. No thanks.
With my mustang I considered cutting the piece out and installing some nicer leather with an adhesive I know won't cause bubbles like that, but then remember led what I just paid for the damn cars and raised hell until they were bought back. And another thing to keep in mind, they'll replace the dash with another dash that probably has the same assembly process, same adhesives, same parts, so you'll be doing the same thing in 6 more months. I'd wait until they figure out what is causing it and once a fix is found and a manufacturing correction has been made, then I'd get it done. (Still give it some time for the old dashboards to get used up)
