It's nice to see good things about the trucks on here, this is not to belittle the very real problems that people are having but I guess I am tired of reading all the bad things that are happening to our members.

Thanks Rick.
I know that Ford has problems to.....all car makers do.
The problem with all forums be it trucks to boats, is you hear a lot about the small percentage with problems....and very little about the many that are great.
I own motorbikes, boats, snowmobiles, a travel trailer, helicopters, equipment, generators, a home, and more.
If reading forums you would think every item i own is pure junk.
When the reality is that short of having to do a little AC repair last summer on the house, and a minor water leak on my travel trailer its all been good to me.

Also, of the ones that I have seen, the problem is more prevalent on the passenger side.

I noticed this on mine about a week or so ago, when I was washing it.
It is only on the passenger side. The driver side is fine. I was a little concerned at first, but after visually inspecting it, it doesn't seem to be an issue, other than a cosmetic one.
I have to agree, that it is a weird quality control issue though.

Wondering if this is just my truck or if it is a systematic thing. If I put my climate control on "auto", it doesn't seem to do much unless I put the temperature on "HI". Seems like if the truck is 40 deg. inside and I have it set to 80 deg., it should run the fan faster and I should feel it start to warm up assuming the engine is warm. On auto, it takes forever for it to start heating.

Anyone else notice this?

From Manual:

Automatic Climate Control

Note:

Adjusting the settings when your

vehicle interior is extremely hot or cold is

not necessary. The system automatically

adjusts to heat or cool the cabin to your

selected temperature as quickly as possible.

For the system to function efficiently, the

instrument panel and side air vents should

be fully open.

Note:

If you select AUTO during cold

outside temperatures, the system directs

airflow to the windshield and side window

vents. In addition, the fan may run at a

slower speed until the engine warms up.

Note:

If you select AUTO during hot outside

temperatures, or when the inside of the

vehicle is hot, the system automatically uses

recirculated air to maximize interior cooling.

When the interior reaches the selected

temperature, the system automatically

switches to using outside air.

Not so much a complaint as an observation, but I've not really noticed any difference in the auto windshield wipers on the lowest or highest sensitivity settings. And they don't always seem to be consistent...sometimes noticably more water is on the windshield before they activate than others. It's never later than I'd like (in other words, I can see just fine), I've just noticed that they don't seem to be terribly consistent in their sensitivity is all. I'm sure it's not a perfect system (light level, sensor blockage, etc.).

Well I had my first real opportunity today to try out the air conditioning and I'm afraid it was pretty darn weak. It was only 20C (68F) outside so it's not like the system should have had trouble keeping up. I was driving on the highway for an hour and had to keep it on Max A/C almost the whole way. Closing the sun-shade and turning on the A/C seats was also necessary for comfort.

The A/C performance is now a major concern for me as I am aware that there's been a lot of complaints in recent years of relatively high air conditioning temperatures in the F-150 and Ford has usually claimed they are within the normal range. I'll ask my dealer to test it the next hot day but I'm not optimistic they'll be able to do anything to improve it. I'm used to excellent A/C in my old 2000 GMC 2500 for which the A/C has never needed servicing. If this is what I'm going to have to deal with when it's just 20C, I'm going to need to run the A/C seats a lot this summer.

Have it checked. We have had 80 temps and mine cools rapidly after all day in the sun.

Yeah, I'm not experiencing the AC issues at all with my truck. Temps touched the 80s here one day and it cooled very fast. After just a minute or two I had it on the lowest fan setting.

My AC will nearly freeze my nuts off in about 10 minutes.

We hit 90 here in Dallas last week and it was sitting in the sun. No problems cooling at all.
