Default Official: 2015 Complaint Thread!

Pretty much on every 2015 forum, I see people saying "I'll wait for the 2016's for all the bugs to be worked out..." "I'll never buy a first year run..." etc..etc...

A lot of us have our 2015's, and put some decent miles on them already (I'm close to 1,000 already). So what have you noticed wrong with your truck so far, if anything?

I'll start us of by saying the only thing I noticed of any kind of defect is the automatic high beams. I've owned 2 cars previous to this with automatic high beams (both Jeeps), and they performed much better than the F150. My trucks come on/go off all the time even when there is no car around, and then when there is a car they come on and high beam people. This happens on back roads & highways.

So far, that is the only issue I have found.

What about you?

My observations are limited to the two test drive F150's that I have driven.

Leather seating; the leather is too loose in some cases and needs tightening.

Doors; the doors do have some gaps and do not always close well without excessive force.

Radio antenna; the antenna needs to be incorporated into the windshield glass or the height shortened.

I replaced the radio antenna with a 14" steel one, but an integrated would be nice.

My doors have all uniform gaps and close easy? Might be truck specific.

I initially thought the leather seating was too loose in my platinum, but after using the massage feature, the air bags REALLY blow up and expand in the leather...so the "loose" look is necessary IMO. But they are very very soft/comfy seats!

Thanks for the additional feedback. I thought the leather and door issues might be due to the trucks that I drove were probably pre-production models. I agree that the 2015 F150 is an awesome truck!

The reason the doors need excessive force is because it is so air tight. Leave a door open then shut the door you're referring to. I think you'll find it shuts fine. At least that's how it is on my 2 back doors.

I agree with you on the antenna, is fix with the 14" antennaX

Agreed!

I wouldn't call it a complaint, but the doors do indeed require a good slam to close unlike my previously heavier 08 screw doors. I think we can all suffer with this issue lol

Only thing wrong with my lariat sport is the CD player messed up. Won't grab the cd to load in. If i force it in fast it will load and play. But that's not right. It should easily grab it and load. Dealer having their stereo guy look at it fri :-\

Many decade ago VW's had the same issue. The seal was so tight that trapped air would make it harder to close.

Several years ago while detailing one of my F150s between the cab and box, I noted a flapper vent located low on the rear of the cab that puzzled me until reading later about vented truck cabs that lessen cab pressure when closing doors. Do the 2015 cabs have such a device?
