Default OEM LED Headlight Test

Hey guys. I have somebody in my area selling OEM LED headlights for $1000.00. He says he installed special edition oem led headlights instead and has few hours on the originals. Is there any way to know that these headlights work before handing over the cash?

If not is there anything else I can look at to try and be sure?

The only way to see if they work is to show you on his ride. All he needs to do is take one side off his truck and plug it in. Unless you have a plug and play harness from RR or The retrofit source you won't be able to test them out. I bit the bullet when I bought mine locally for $520USD. I was not gonna find a complete set for that cheap, and worst case if something doesn't work you can buy the parts from Tasca ford

Wow man what a great deal. I'm paying about 740 USD. I'll ask to see if he'd mind going through the trouble of showing me. Do you have the morimoto P&P or the RR?

It was, and it was now or never. Lol, when looking for the set make sure all components are there. Like the bracket on the bottom and ballast (white square as per pic). I bought my harness from the retrofit source($300usd)and there was a minor hiccup but solved it myself. I have a thread started on here somewhere. The plug for the marker light was reversed. If you want a true plug and play kit I would recommend raptor retrofit harness($350usd)A little more money but there kit is a true plug and play.

If you have a 12V battery and some alligator clips you can test them. As ricky said though, you need to make sure he is including the driver (ballast). You will need the adapters to install in your truck, but just for bench testing, you can put 12V to each pin to test function. Obviously, you'll need to know which pin is which. 1 is turn, 3 is park, 4 is DRL, 5 Low beam, 6 High beam, 7 Ground. I tested mine with a small 3S Lipo battery out of an RC car. Good luck with the purchase.

Like Brian said, that's something good to know with pin location as I myself wouldn't know how to test bare led headlights

At 740.00 even if ballasts arent included, thats a good deal. You can get the 2 ballasts for 200.00, from a ford dealer.
