Thats a pretty small number
hahaha. EXACTLY... think about the ENDLESS drive-train vibration threads in Silverado/Sierra forums or the extensive "cooled seats not working" thread in this forum...

it's incredibly hard to believe that tens of thousands 2011 F150 with the 3.5 EB have rough idling, worsening mpg, misfires due to carbon deposits by now - yet there is no long thread in this (or other forums). And sorry - a guy doing a scope prior to installing a catch-can is not a thread about a problem...

The only carbon deposit threads i can find are in forums which primarily discuss catch-cans.... who would have thought.

is that business pitching catch-cans and being the "youtube expert" for the disastrous EcoBoost engine? (WARNING to all EcoBoost owners! watch the video!! - click bait....)

it would help if we would clean up his truck just a bit before sitting inside and doing a video... nothing speaks "pride of ownership" like watching someone doing a video inside a trashed truck with stuff/garbage everywhere...

If you dont think those scope pics showed a developing problem that will continue to get worse, well then I really don't know what else to say.

Maybe you're not seeing carbon threads because carbon is hidden in the engine ? Many post's mention idle issues, poor or loss of mpg and missfires..... All possibly attributed to carbon build up. You think the dealer or Ford is going to approve head replacement ( the only current option ) for minor misfires or a slight loss of mpg ?

Maybe you're right, carbon build up has never been a ongoing issue for just about every gasoline DI engine regardless of the maker. Thousands of articles, pics videos, service bulletins over many different brands. Sure, its all just nonsense. Yep, Ford just added 6 more port injectors to the 2017 3.5 for cold start emissions

You have never answered why you think Ford has added 6 port injectors on the 2017 3.5. I've asked you multiple times.

Why keep avoiding that question ? Maybe because its obvious why they did it and it proves my point ?

Ford publicly answered that question and stated that it is for better emission control and being able to fulfill upcoming emission standards.... it is YOUR choice to see that as a big conspiracy / lie and only done to hide the true nature of the change = addressing a reliability issue with the old EB.... reminds me a lot of conspiracy theorists logic ...

Brian at no point in the video offers to sell or suggests a brand of catch can over another for purchase. He only mention the cans ability to reduce build up.

You think Ford would really admit why they added port injection ? The emissions nonsense is total bull. Total nonsense ! Port injection offers NO emissions improvment. Why do you think newer engines are going to direct injection ...Better emmisions !!!

Marketing nonsense just like " military grade aluminum " what the hell is military grade aluminum ?

Did they buy it from the military ?

Reality and some line of marketing bull are two very different things.

Anyone with basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of modern engine design knows that direct injection was adopted for improved emissions. Should be painfully obvious why Ford added port injection.

military grade aluminum are aluminum alloys used in various military applications - from M4 carbine lowers (6061-T6 and 7075-T6 alloys) to fighter jets (usually 6061) and vehicles ... those alloys meet mil-spec requirements specified for each application ... hence you can call them "military-grade". Ford uses different aluminum alloys in the F150 with the cabin/crucial elements being higher quality alloys similar to the ones used in military applications.

Regarding port injection offering no emission improvements or allowing for better emission control - what exactly is your background? Master degree in engineering? Experience in engine design?
