Default No longer have 3.5mm line in. Now what do i do?

I just purchased a 2016 F150 xlt with sync 3. I traded in my 2012 f150 xlt and it had a 3.5 mm line in port so i could plug in any external device that had a 3.5mm output jack.

Since i no longer have the line in, how can i connect and use devices with the stock stereo and sync 3 that are not blue tooth capable?

I purchased a usb to 3.5mm jack on amazon to plug into the usb port but sync 3 doesnt seem to recognize there is anything in the usb port?

Any suggestions or ideas?

I'd also like to get this "aux" line-in back. Since the higher-end models have this, I am hoping it could be retrofitted in with a few parts and plugging it into the Sync 3 unit.

Can't you use this. I don't know if sync 3 has the av inputs, but my 2015 has them.

Not sure of the back of my 2016 Sync 3, or OP's, but potentially. We would want a red/white dual male end, and a female aux (3.5mm) end coming to an OEM opening in the center front tray.

Can someone with a lariat, platinum, king ranch confirm and post up a pic of how yours looks?

Can someone post a photo or wiring diagram of the back of the Synch 3 (2016)?

Nope, this doesnt work either. They removed the A/V inputs too, unless there is a place to plug it in on the head unit.

DVD player that kids are watching in back seat. its not blue tooth enabled and i want the sound to go through speakers in truck so they can hear it better cause speakers on portable dvd player are worthless. Plus, everyone in truck can hear the sound, not just the person with the headphones.
