Hey Guys, I'm looking to buy my first truck. I'm looking at the 2014 F150 FX4. My local dealer has one in stock for $40K and is offering 0% financing for 60mths and $1000 to $1500 cash back. Does this look like the best deal i'm going to find or should I wait longer for a bigger price drop or better incentives?

There is $1,500 customer cash rebate on that, plus $1,500 trade assistance rebate, OR $1,000 Ford credit cash (if you take the 0% financing) plus the trade assistance.
You should go to a site like Edmunds and see what the invoice price is on that. Note the fine print on their offer doesn't include a $589 processing fee and freight, so you'll be adding close to $1,800 to that price. And they are comparing to the MSRP which includes freight, yet they haven't added it.
I did just that, hoping that others will read this post and see how they can get to the true numbers.
The MSRP on that truck, built in mid-July, with discounts is $52,155. Edmunds comes close today, $52,445, with an invoice of $46,993 or roughly 10.4% off the sticker, so roughly your invoice would be $46,731 (ask the dealer for the Vincent printout on that truck which shows invoice, rebates, X Plan, etc.).
They're advertising $41,961 PLUS $1,195 freight (assuming that's what they charge) = $43,156 plus the other fees. So it APPEARS to be a good deal, but you don't know what rebates they are including (read their fine print). You need to know if you'll get all those rebates, or if some are excluded. In short, you need to strip all the rebates out of their price so you can see how they compare to invoice BEFORE rebates, and then figure out the rebates you qualify for.
And your $40k is not the price they are advertising...

I just, 1 month ago, got a '14 SCrew boost fx4 5 year 100k mile ESP bumper to bumper-sticker
I got $10k off
I drove a couple hours to get it. The reason? My local ford deal quoted me on a similar 2013 MSRP and wouldn't budge. Don't know how they stay in business with deals like that.

Other side of that coin is that Ford is losing market share, and they may want to boost some sales numbers. Especially on the '15, because they want to show how big of a success it will be. I think once the initial run of "gotta have it first" people finishes up, there will be some incentives to get the '15s out there.
