New F150 triggering deep discounts on 2014 models?
I live in southern NH, and took a drive through the Bill Dube lot in Dover. I think they have to have aggressive pricing to compete with Portsmouth Ford, which I think is one of, if not the largest volume Ford dealer in New England. Took a quick look at the row of F150s on the back lot, and it looked like they all had red tag sale prices hanging off the rear view mirrors. The blue STX I saw first was listed at 38k, sale price 28k. Also saw another tag discounted 45k to 32k.
I hope and pray I will see the same kind of discounts next year on the outgoing 2015s... Ford wants to maintain their sales leadership crown (please let's not rehash the Chevy+GMC sells more debate, thank you), and if they don't keep the discounts going on year end stock, the competition will step in. So apart from all the current buyers who are willing to pay a premium to get the new model first, most new truck buyers demand aggressive, fair market pricing. So with the GIANT hoopla over this new aluminum body truck, Ford wants a smash hit that sets sales records.
When you are pushing this kind of volume, you can expect to see the usual discount schedule hold true as the year rolls on, and each seasonal ad campaign kicks into gear. So for those of you on a budget, BE PATIENT. The dealer who only has a few on the lot as they trickle in and isn't haggling will change their tune later on when the lot fills up. I'm looking to establish a relationship with a dealer that is willing to order me a truck in Q3/Q4 around invoice. Unless of course I win the a Drive Event truck.

I suggest you lookup the incentives for your area for the models you are interested in.
There appear to be incentives up to $7,250, so seeing $10k off a sticker is not unusual.
Dealers will do what they want to do to move vehicles to meet their own sales and profit targets.

Yeah I'm aware of the usual incentives, it's the additional 5500$ off the price that nets a 13k price drop that interests me. I know trucks are always over priced at the beginning of the model year, and slowly drop over time. Now that I'm paying attention, I will check the pricing on the model I want each quarter at a few different dealers during 2015. Should be interesting...

best of luck
Just spent about a month trying to find a 14 I liked at a price I would pay. Doesn't seem as there is a large volume of V8 Lariat packages in the NoVA area to about 200 miles out from me. There is a much bigger selection of Ecoboost Lariats out there though. What is available is $$ and dealers don't seem ready to come down much. All those incentive dollars are deceptive because no one is likely going to qualify for all of the ones listed.
Good luck to those searching for a new ride. I'm going to wait a while.

Ford has said they will NOT play the incentive game on remaining 14's. They don't want dealers to run out of stock. Maybe in mid 15' you'll see some bigger 14 incentives, but not anytime soon.

What will be interesting is to see if Ford's marketing strategy changes at all after yesterday's analyst call. Ford's stock is down 10% this week already after they said they expected about $1 billion less in profit than originally estimated. Now more than ever, they are going to need the new F150 to show incredibly strong sales.
What that means for us is obviously speculation right now, but I would not at all be surprised to see more incentives than we originally thought once the '15s roll out and inventory is up in order to boost sales numbers. With as long as the launch is taking, Ford can't risk losing the sales crown on top of the already bad news they just released. Just a thought...

$7,250 in zip 03820.
Includes:
$1,500 Customer Cash - take retail delivery by 9/30 (will likely be renewed)
$500 XLT - buy an XLT
$2,000 Luxury Package - is on the sticker if you get that package
$750 Leather and HD headlights - same as luxury package
$1,500 Trade Assistance - trade a '95 or newer vehicle (you must have owned it for 30 days prior I believe).
$1,000 Ford Credit - finance with Ford and don't take the 0% offer.
To me the $2,000 and $750 are deceptive as rebates as they are already on the sticker, but everyone gets it.
There is also:
$500 new student bonus for part-time and full-time college students including grad students. Not with AXZD plans.
There are other rebates like military ($500), police ($500), American Quarterhorse Association ($500, requires you to join 60 days prior), etc.

Hey Guys, I'm looking to buy my first truck. I'm looking at the 2014 F150 FX4. My local dealer has one in stock for $40K and is offering 0% financing for 60mths and $1000 to $1500 cash back. Does this look like the best deal i'm going to find or should I wait longer for a bigger price drop or better incentives?

Check and see if you can find a leftover 13. I know a lot near me still has a couple.
