Little sensitive with a lot of republican smoke. Ford would of had gone down with the ship too and that is why Ford was at Congress with GM and Crysler. Sure we lost 11.1 billion on GM but TARP made money: spent 421 billion spent got 432 billion back. So personally think everybody came out in the end.... Oh yeah, GO FORD

You may think it's "republican smoke" but liberals tend to ignore facts. Ford would not have gone down like GM and Chrysler. Ford was not even in trouble. Ford was in good shape because it mortgaged assets worth tens of billions years before Chrysler and GM asked Congress for a bailout. Ford just asked Congress to be included in the bailout so they wouldn't suffer competing against subsidized companies. In the end, Ford didn't take any bailout money.

What loans in 2006? Ford sold 20 plus billion in assets off. They just got a loan in 2009 to retool factories and for development of more fuel efficient vehicles. Like that article states, it was for 5.9 billion. Since that article is old, Ford has been paying down the loan according to terms the government set. That loan wasn't a bailout. Much different situation compared to GM and Chrysler.

First, it clearly states that Ford BORROWED money and it did NOT "get a free bailout/handout", yet the author has the audacity to call Ford "hypocritical". She clearly wasted her money at community college.
Second, this line was a doozy: "Let’s face it: Ford has gotten a bit of a free pass for the last year or two."
FORD got a free ride? Ford didn't get BILLIONS of free taxpayer dollars GIVEN TO THEM like GM and Chrysler, yet Ford "got a free ride"?!?! What a total and complete idiot (the author).
