GM got rid of the suicide doors, Ford should've done the same.

Reason number one-why I bought one a left-over '13 instead of a '15:

Good read.
Is this correct?
"Ford’s trucks didn’t get the institute’s highest safety rating — “Top Safety Pick Plus” — because they don’t have automatic braking systems to prevent collisions. They do have a front collision warning system, but it doesn’t have automatic braking."

That is correct the IIHS requires automatic braking for the top safety pick plus. Initially it was if the vehicle got a good or acceptable on the small overlap test along with all the other test they would be eligible for the top safety pick + but they changed that this year. Now you have to get good or acceptable on the small overlap and have automatic braking to be a top safety pick +.

There's a YouTube video of a Ford dealership in Spokane WA touting that "the competition did away with the suicide doors b/c they wouldn't meet /pass government safety standards". Well I guess they'll have to retract that statement now. I bought a '15 Sierra Z-71 SLT double cab and love the ACTUAL rear doors. Suicide doors are a pain in the ***.

Here's another link with more info.
It all boils down to the 'crash bars' that are on the SuperCrew, that we're all cutting off to put on 35's.

Those literally are suicide doors. Terrible crash testing results.

As far as I can tell the bad test result have nothing to do with the doors.

Default suicide doors

I specifically bought a ford because it has suicide doors. I don't want to walk around a rear door to throw in my lunch box and tools.
