Default New 2017 Ecoboost and 10-speed

Any comments on the new 2017 ecoboost and 10-speed transmission? I've read all the magazine reviews, just wondering what actual owners think of it. (thinking of buying a 2017 Lariat or Platinum)

BTW, this is my first post! I currently own a 2005 F-150 FX4 SuperCrew. Bought it brand new.

Try the search feature a few threads are already started on the topic. Seems like all positive reviews so far. People rave about the power.

I drove one last month when looking to buy. Very impressive power. Feels much better than the 16 that I ended up buying with the 3.5 6spd 3.55. The only reason I didn't buy it is the rest of the truck wasn't what I wanted and it was the only one around at the time. But I can tell you, sometimes I wish I had went with it.

I think it's a game changer.

Thank you for the replies! (I did search....maybe I missed the other threads)

Like most buyers, I'm trying to decide between getting a good deal on a 2016 Ecoboost 6-speed or spending the considerable additional $$$ for a 2017 Ecoboost 10-speed.

I wasn't sure which 10 speed thread to post, so I'll ask here. I just test drove a 3.5 with the 10 speed. The truck had plenty of power. My question is Ford's transmission characteristics. I can't compare to the 6 speed or any other late model Ford truck as the last one we had was IIRC an 05 Lariat with the 5.4 and had a lot of transmission problems mainly due to pulling a tow hauler. Anyways, on my test drive the pick up and shifting felt fine. Getting on the freeway I was up to 80 mph halfway down the on ramp. My concern was driving down a main street at around 45 mph. As I slowly took off from a signal and was cruising down the street if felt as if the truck was surging or a tad jerking, this is my best description. It didn't feel like the truck was shifting inappropriately nor were the rpm's fluctuating. Just a surge type feeling of back and forth similar to driving a stick shift and your in 4th gear at 20 mph and the rpm/speed/gears are not matched. Hope this makes sense, I was just curious as it didn't feel smooth.
