Default myKey (actual key)

When equipped with the myKey (keyless entry/push start feature), you still have a regular key. I think the only thing that is used for is the center console, glove compartment, and spare tire. I'm thinking about just leaving it in the car... So that whoever is driving would have it in the event of a flat tire. Probably going to leave it in the myKey backup spot to keep it hidden and not easily lost.

Anything I'm not thinking about? Are there other uses for the key other than center console, glove compartment, and spare tire? I was surprised they only gave 1 of these.

You need it to unlock the door if your battery were dead. They don't put one in each fob??

Yes. Correct. Missed that in my list of uses. I guess it's best to not store inside the truck. Maybe I'll just get a spare made so that my wife's key had it with it too. Just don't get why they didn't give 2 of those.

There is no key inside the fob like you'd expect. It's just a separate key and they only give 1.

Good greif... the bean counters are really getting stingy... next year they'll probably only give 1 fob per truck...

That makes more sense. I was thinking about how it would cost more to produce and track two different fobs just to avoid giving an extra spare key.
