My Peragon Tonneau Cover

Okay so here's the update. I thoroughly cleaned the cover and then used rubbing alcohol on a clean microfiber cloth to clean the area and as you can see there scratches are still there. In fact I noticed other scratches on the bed rails as well.
Again, I have only opened and closed this cover perhaps 20-25 times in total now. The only "work" the truck has seen is hauling small brush to the local wood lot. If this were a real working truck I imagine it would look much, much worse. The truck currently has 1,800 miles on it.

I believe they all come with the long bolts. Probably the longest length any vehicle needs. They are soft, you can cut them off with a hacksaw. Or, Walmart carries up to 1.5" (I think) for cheap. My F150 needs about 2".

My primary goal is to make sure you feel fairly treated. So if you'd like us to do anything differently as we work through this, just let us know and we'll take care of you.
So we're looking at two issues involving the powder coat finish:
1) The smudged areas on the panels where you push down to open. I was hoping that buffing out the wax you applied would remove those. Just your hands opening the cover should definitely not scratch the powder coating. If that was normal, we'd be in trouble! We'd like to get that panel assembly back so our team can get to the bottom of the issue. We can ship you a no-charge replacement first so you aren't without a cover. It will be a snap out, snap in replacement, then you can put the original panels into the same box and we'll have it picked up on our dime. If you have the information handy, please also let me know the exact wax you used so we can dig further into that. I've never heard of any type of wax causing an issue with the powder coating, but we'd like to test to rule that possibility out. As I mentioned in an earlier post, my only other working theory is that the bake cycle on the powder coating did not cure it fully.
2) The scratched area on the rail looks like something rubbed against it. I'd be happy to also replace the rail(s) at no cost to you, but my concern is the same thing could happen again. I don't want to oversell the powder coating as being impervious to scratches. Our powder coat finish is durable, but can be scratched by something hard like branches rubbing on it. (Just in case you're wondering, we powder coat rails on different days than panels, so if an incomplete cure caused the first issue above, it is unlikely to be related to this second issue.)
I'd completely understand if you'd prefer a return at this stage, so I'd extend that option to you for a full refund even though you're a bit outside the 30 day window. Of course, I'd rather see a Peragon cover stay on your truck, but I don't want you to feel stuck with something you're not happy with.
I've alerted our Support team and linked them to this thread so they are in the loop. If you'd like to reach out directly to them, they can take care of the logistics on whichever direction you'd like us to go.
Thank you!

We're excited to announce that we just launched a Clamp Kit option for customers who don't want to drill. The option isn't on our website yet, we're introducing it first to the forum community and it can be added to an order by phone. Full details and a video by a forum member here:

Retractable Bed Cover
Thank you for considering a Peragon cover for your new truck!
We haven't launched the Clamp Kit yet for the Super Duty, but plan to. My best guess is 2-3 months before we will have it available. We did a soft-launch for the F-150 on this forum first to get feedback before rolling the option out to other models.
If you're not able to wait and are willing to consider drilling, the drill-on mounting is just three 1/4" holes through the inside lip of your truck bed rail on each side. If you removed your cover in the future, the holes would be hardly noticeable.

This update is late coming and for that I apologize to Heath. Peragon really went above and beyond taking this cover back. They extended their return time frame for me, and paid for return shipping from Alaska, they really took a bath on this deal, but I really appreciate their phenomenal customer service and would not hesitate to recommend a Peragon cover to anyone based on my experiences with them.
Heath, thank you again for taking care of me, you really went above and beyond what anyone would expect. I hope you're able to use my cover to make future covers even better.

It looks like some light surface marks....I'd try a little wax. If not, I use a product called Zymol HD Cleanse that pretty much removes any and all swirl marks from paint and plastic surfaces. You could try that and whether or not it works, you'd have a nice cleanse for any marks or scuffs on your truck!
