My new Lariat
Picked up my special order 2015 Lariat 3.5EB today after 7 long weeks of excruciating impatience. I ordered a 502a SuperCrew with the max tow option including trailer tow mirrors. I skipped the adaptive cruise, park assist and power running boards (Never had good experiences with the power running boards in the Alberta climate after a couple of years). Also skipped the FX4 package and box side steps. After having the truck for a couple of days and finally getting some paint protection and front window tint on today, I feel like I have finally made it mine.
First of all, this truck is gorgeous. It has amazing proportions that are easy to photograph with the DSLR camera. I can't believe I didn't like the new generation at first, because now I think it is the most striking and beautiful truck on the road. With the chrome package it has so much class and presence, it just demands respect wherever it goes. The tuxedo black paint against chrome is just stunning. I've never owned a truck with any chrome before (Always been an FX4 guy) and this one really turns my crank. I have gotten more attention on this truck in the last 2 days than I have ever gotten on any of my FX4's in the past.
What amazes me the most is the refinement, ride and handling with the new aluminum body. It feels nimble, well-sorted and eager while being relaxed and smooth. It really is the master of all trades. So quiet and comfortable. No wind noise.
I could go on all day about the tech in this thing, but I'd just be repeating everybody else. The thing that stands out to me the most is all of the LED lights inside and out. It's fun to fire it all up and take a look at night. The box lights are a gift from the heavens.
All in all I am head-over-heels in love with this Lariat. I am having a hard time finding reasons not to drive it.
Enjoy the pics!
