Yeah the max tow has the brake controller and I think the 3.73. I just have the regular tow package with 3.55. I wonder if its because I have a screw with 2.7l.

I agree, I too understood. He has a comparison, and his new 2015 Aluminum Light Weight F150 3.5L Ecoboost in his circumstance, is not as fuel efficient as his old heavyweight 2010 F150 with the 5.4L.

It's just great FORD marketing!

ECO, immediately makes you think fuel economy, which in real world driving since 2011 has proven, MPG to be ALL OVER the place! BOOST, it's actually there, put your foot down, and hold on, puts you back into your seats!

High Horsepower, High Torque, Turbocharged Gas Engines just don't equate to CONSISTENT High MPG Trucks at this point in time! Perhaps several years from now, technology and smaller, lighter weight trucks will make fuel economy more consistent, but it's not there yet!

This might stir up the pot, as the forums have been sort of quiet, lately?

My truck has been getting 12-12.8 MPG. I have the 3.5 EcoBoost with the 3.31. I do ALL city driving in/around Atlanta traffic, mostly during rush hour.

Of note, when I bought my truck, driving it off the lot the check engine light came on, and the techs said I had a vacuum leak and fixed it immediately.

I had a 2010 with the 5.4 I traded in, same driving style and I was getting 15 MPG with the old engine? I dont get on it often, but I do drive in the fast lane a lot.

Is this an expected MPG for this truck?

MPG will vary. Don't concentrate on your MPG, and you will be much happier with your truck. As you said, you love your truck, so just put it into sport mode and ENJOY!!

I have the 3.5 EB with 3.55s and am getting 18.9 on the computer over the life of the truck (1850 miles since Aug 20).

Also I have the Max trailer tow package with the 3.55s. Kinda nice there

I don't think you can get less than a 3.55 in the 2.7L, to make up for the lower power and torque as compared to the 3.5 and 5.0.

Tape an egg to your shoe. All the recent Fords I have had came with a hyperactive gas pedal. So building boost and sucking gas.
