Oh that's right, because no one on this forum who's a huge fan of one of the engines knows how to be logical, impartial, and unbiased.

Subjectively, the EB is better in just about every measurable way, not by a ton, but . I'm not a "fan" of either, and I have driven both. They are both great, but not the same.
The arguments in favor of the 5.0, which is a fantastic motor, are usually luddite-ish and use a lot of slogans, are not sophisticated or compelling. Just sayin.....
I'll put this another way..... I hate GM, their products, and what that whole company represents. That said, how is the 5.0 better than GM's recycled 5.3 with DI?
I'm sure the usual suspects will call that trolling, as debating is tough when the facts get in the way. Flame away.

Age old debate(best engine), about as relevant as what is the best color. Not an argument you can win, its subjective.

Daytoman says:

Yeah that was a quick fluff piece, not a full test. Ford is not looking forward to full test results on the 2.7 regarding real world fuel economy. Its not going to be pretty.
And then, at a poster's guess of low to mid 20's mpg he says:

It wont. No way, no how.
So, with the inside info you must have, could you please tell us what the EPA ratings for the 2.7 will be? We see what you say the mpg's won't be, that means that you know what they will be, does it not?

Yes daytoman, please tell us what the fuel economy ratings will be for the 2015 F-150 with the 2.7 EB.

Yes, debating sure is tough when facts get in the way, which must be why your post contains no facts. And if all the arguments in favor of the 5.0 that youve seen are weak, then you clearly haven't been doing enough research or looking in the right places.

Superior rated;
mileage
power
torque
towing capacity
power curve

Some of that may change if when Ford firms up the specs, but on the 2011's to 2014's the EB wins in every measurable aspect.

Tell me how I am wrong, I always appreciate free advice / information

You forgot sound and the caveman grunts. I love my 5.0. Don't need the pissed off bumble bee even if it is better in "every" measurable way. I'm extremely happy with the truck that I have.

The one thing that people seem to forget (or at least seldom mention) is this:

There is a very good reason that the Max Tow option is not offered on the 5.0. Ford was very wise not to do that on an engine where the max torque curve is reached at 4,150 rpm....................when the EB does basically the same thing starting below 1,800 rpm and then stays there all the way to 4,150 rpm.
The 5.0 is a very fine, high revving engine for those who enjoy this, and sounds a TON better than any other available engine -- especially with a custom exhaust.
I am so glad though -- that when pulling our TT up a grade in 4th gear at 2,900 rpm that I have the EB, and am not forced to listen to a high revving V8 in 3rd gear at 4,100 rpm. The EB is more relaxed sounding, quieter, and more capable, especially when towing.

Well said Sterling.

Manuel, that's the beauty of this F-150 thing. There's something for everyone! We each do different things with our trucks and we can appreciate that feeling of loving our trucks.

Completely agree. What's funny is the 3.7 will do more than most of the big V8's from the 90's, yet people aren't happy. Lol. Oh well. Hopefully Ford will stay on top and keep the options going. Now if they could just TT a 5.0 for production that's under 60k. Lmao.
