motor trend test 2015 f150

I want that exact truck!

KBB's test said that they got 'well into the 20s' when they drove a truck from Texas to California, which sounds about right.

The point was it is initially looking to be a better performer than the current 5.0L (in a different league than the 5.4) and the V8 owners who are trotting out the predictable comments about small engines, V6's, and no replacement for displacement. Yet, it looks to be better in most every way than the current 5L. Lots to learn about how it holds up, but this is a strong starting point. Better torque curve for most truck duties as well.....
It will be really funny of the 2.7 sounds better too!

As for sound - the 2.7tt will sound great until your speakers go bad.

Yeah that was a quick fluff piece, not a full test. Ford is not looking forward to full test results on the 2.7 regarding real world fuel economy. Its not going to be pretty.

In all measurable ways, except peak horsepower and soundtrack, the 3.5 EB beats the 6.2. So I'm not sure what your point is? If, if, if,=whatever. The 6.2 is what it is, end of story. The EB could easily be tweaked for more horsepower at the higher rpm ranges, without any substantial changes too, so there's that. Both have their strengths, but the 6.2's drawbacks aren't palatable to most people, where as the EB is acceptable in most ways, to a many people.
Driven reasonably, it is not the least bit difficult to get 20's out of a 3.7. A lighter truck, (2015) with the supposedly wider efficiency band of the ecoboost, saying it won't happen is a contrarian guess at best.

You mean like how the EB owners here trot on with their predictable comments about how their engine is superior just because it has alittle more power (LOL), as if that's the only factor in what constitutes a good, well engineered motor? Why not call out the other side for their equally ignorant remarks? Why turn a deaf ear to all the EB worshipping, v8 bashing trolls? Oh that's right, because no one on this forum who's a huge fan of one of the engines knows how to be logical, impartial, and unbiased.
