Sure, the XL has it. It has shortened frame and cab but wider.

Is there a 5.5' box for a regular cab?

Ford has quite a spread of engines. The standard cab will probably come in under 4,000 pounds, and that's a good thing. a 3.4L 290 hp will drive it just fine.

I'll miss the 3.7L its easily the best feature on my truck. Just a super engine, overshadowed only by the 3.5L Ecoboost. Seems like it deserved better.

Well, the more I learn about the '15, the more I like it. That new 2.7 Ecoboost might be the ticket for my needs.

Since there isn't currently, don't count on it for 2015 either.

Vs the ram ecodiesel, if this 2.7 has 80 hp more, comparable torque, and gets within 10% of its fuel mileage for $5000 less, I don't see how dodge could sell a single diesel half ton.

Then you know very little about the diesel truck market. First diesel motors have a HUGE following, a lot of people love them and will drive nothing but them. Second they do have a lot more potential than gas engines; that ram diesel modded will destroy our 2.7tt.
